About Prompt
We’re parents and educators who believe phones can be part of the solution, not just the problem.
Our story
Like most parents, we wanted our teenagers to spend less time scrolling and more time learning. We could see them working hard as exams approached, but we knew consistent daily revision throughout the year would make all the difference.
We also couldn’t ignore the hours spent on phones – scrolling through social media, messaging friends, watching videos. It wasn’t that we blamed them. We’d bought the devices, after all. And if we’re honest, we’re pretty attached to our own phones too.
But we kept thinking: what if we could make their screentime work in their favour?
The solution
That’s when Prompt was born.
Instead of fighting phone use or trying to block it entirely, we created a way to transform it into something positive. Working alongside experienced teachers and curriculum specialists, we developed content covering all GCSE and KS3 subjects across the major examination boards.
Prompt doesn’t lecture or scold. It simply interrupts scrolling with quick quiz questions and gentle nudges teens to take breaks. Think of it as a cheeky teacher in their pocket who won’t let them off easily – but one they’ll thank later.
Our approach
We believe in the power of cumulative impact. Small learning moments, repeated often throughout the day, build significant knowledge over time. It’s not about dramatic transformation – it’s about steady, reliable progress that genuinely sticks.
“Little by little, a little becomes a lot.”
— Tanzanian Proverb

For teachers
Teachers do the crucial work of explaining concepts and teaching application. Prompt handles the “hard yards” of committing facts to memory – the repetitive work that’s essential but time-consuming.
When students arrive with foundational knowledge already locked in, teachers can focus on what they do best: developing higher-order skills like analysis, reasoning, structured writing and creative thinking.
Built by people who understand
Our team includes:
- Parents of teenagers
(we live this every day) - Qualified teachers and tutors
(we know the curriculum inside out) - Education technology specialists
(we build tools that work)
We created Prompt because we needed it ourselves. Now we’re sharing it with families who face the same challenges we do.
